Crabbin’

Blue Crab Fishing on Nantucket – Open Season – No permit required unless using traps. Return egg-bearing females. 4 1/8 inch shell width spine to spine. 50 crabs a day. Season closed January 1 – April 30.
Raw chicken wings or drummies, a net and string are all you need – head out Madaket Road to any of the bridges past the landfill. Tie the string to the chicken and throw it in the water. You can watch the crabs near your bait. Once you catch them, cook ’em up – we always throw them back because the hubby is allergic.
